Instructions for Authors

General

Systems

Microbiology and Biomanufacturing (SMAB) aims at providing a platform

for high-quality research in the interdisciplinary areas of industrial

microbiology and biomanufacturing process development. It has an

international authorship and a broad scope in the following topics: Food

Microbiology and Biotechnology, Industrial Microbiology and

Biotechnology, Metabolic Engineering and Synthetic Biology, Fermentation

Engineering, and more. Detailed subjects are outlined in the journal’s

Aims and Scope.

SMAB

is served by a dedicated international editorial board to give thorough

swift editorial response. Generally, the manuscript processing time

from submitting to acceptance is within two months.

To

facilitate the single-blind review process, please carefully follow the

journal’s guidelines when preparing the manuscript. If any instructions

are unclear, the author can contact the journal editor at:

Additional Instruction for the Writing of Statements and Declarations:

The

Editorial procedure

Single-blind peer review

This journal follows a single-blind reviewing procedure.

This

journal also publishes special/guest-edited issues. The peer review

process for these articles is the same as the peer review process of the

journal in general.

Additionally, if a guest editor authors an article in their issue/collection, they will not handle the peer review process.
