Author Guidelines

1. SUBMISSION

Thank you for your interest in Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis (PH&C). Note that submission implies that the content has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere except as a brief abstract in the proceedings of a scientific meeting or symposium.

Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis (PH&C) now offers Free Format submission for a simplified and streamlined submission process.

Cover letter

A cover letter should be included in the ‘Cover Letter Field’ of the ScholarOne system. The text can be entered directly into the field or uploaded as a file.

The cover letter must contain:

i) A statement confirming the paper has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere except as a brief abstract in the proceedings of a scientific meeting or symposium;

ii) An acknowledgment that all authors have contributed significantly and in keeping with the latest guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, each author’s contribution to the paper is to be described, i.e., what role each author participated in;

iii) a statement confirming that all authors are in agreement with the content of the manuscript.

2. AIMS AND SCOPE

Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis (PH&C) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish cutting-edge academic advances on innovative achievements and practice in the field of portal hypertension and cirrhosis. The audience of the journal covers hepatologists, gastroenterologists, endoscopists, digestive surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, etc. PH&C is the official journal of Chinese Portal Hypertension Alliance (CHESS). This title is hosted by Chinese Medical Association (CMA), and supported by National Medical Center for Infectious Diseases of China.

3. MANUSCRIPT CATEGORIES AND REQUIREMENTS

(1) Editorial

Editorials are opinions or perspectives on the content of Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis (PH&C) or of relevance to the field of portal hypertension or cirrhosis. Editorials are usually commissioned; however, unsolicited editorials are also welcome. Editorials can be up to 2000 words length with no more than 15 references.

Word Limit: 2,000 words maximum.

Abstract: not required.

Keywords: 3 to 10 keywords representing the main content of the article.

References: 15 maximum. If there are over 6 authors, please list at least 6 authors and et al.

Figures/tables: There should be maximum 1 figure or table.

List of abbreviations: If abbreviations are used in the abstract, text or figures/tables they should be defined in the abstract or text at first use and be defined in the figure legend or table notes.
