Review

To

synthesize and critically evaluate recent advancements in a specific

research field, highlighting key breakthroughs, unresolved challenges,

and emerging trends. Reviews should provide a comprehensive analysis of

literature spanning the past 5–10 years, integrating interdisciplinary

perspectives where applicable. Review articles will be accepted on a

very exceptional basis, and only if the Editors consider that the topic

requires the extension.

Word limit: Limited to 10,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, figures, and their legends.

Tables and figures: The total number of tables and figures for the main text is limited to 10.

Original research

To

present original research findings that represent a significant advance

in understanding or technology. Articles must demonstrate rigorous

methodology, robust data analysis, and clear implications for the field.

Materials and methods should be included in the main text. Supplemental

materials and methods can be included in the supplemental information,

which should also include information needed to support the paper's

conclusions. Research articles will be accepted on a very exceptional

basis, and only if the Editors consider that the topic requires the

extension.

Word limit: Limited to 8,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, figures, and their legends.

Tables and figures: The total number of tables and figures for the main text is limited to 10.

Rapid report

To

present important new research results of broad significance. Reports

should include an abstract, an introductory paragraph, up to six figures

or tables, and about 80 references. Materials and methods can be

included in the main text or in the Supplemental Information, which

should also include information needed to support the paper's

conclusions.

Word limit: Limited to 4,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, figures, and their legends.

Tables and figures: The total number of tables and figures for the main text is limited to 6.

Perspective

To

present highlight recent exciting research, but they do not primarily

discuss the author's own work. They may provide context for the findings

within a field or explain potential interdisciplinary importance.

Commentary

To

engage with timely scientific debates, policy issues, or recent

high-impact publications. Comments may critique, extend, or

contextualize findings, fostering scholarly dialogue. As these are meant

to express a personal viewpoint, with rare exceptions, Commentary

should have no more than two authors. To engage with timely scientific

journals within the field. Commentary may be peer reviewed at the

editor's discretion.

Word limit: Limited to 1,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, figures, and their legends.

Tables and figures: The total number of tables and figures for the main text is limited to 1.

References: The total number of references for the main text is limited to 10.

News

The

News section provides authoritative overviews of the latest significant

developments in the field of agricultural ecology and environment.

Submissions should be 500–1,000 words in length, authored by one or two

contributors, and cite fewer than five references. The content must be

based on research articles published within the last three months or key

findings presented at recent scientific conferences. Although

contributions are typically invited, unsolicited submissions are also

welcome for consideration.

Correspondence

To

provide concise, focused commentary on articles published in the

journal within the past 6 months or on emerging scientific topics.

Correspondence should have no more than two authors.

Word limit: Limited to 300 words excluding abstract, references, tables, figures, and their legends.

Tables and figures: No figures/tables.

References: The total number of references for the main text is limited to 5.
